Since John Galliano’s controversial leave as Christian Dior’s creative director, Raf Simons has taken reign over the fashion house. Simons’ first ready-to-wear campaign revamps Dior’s style, while preserving its classic aesthetic. Willy Vanderperre’s chic, pictorial photographs are a testament to Dior’s modernization. Featuring Daria Strokous, Daiane Conterato, Nicole Pollard, Anna Martynova and Marie Piovesan, the label’s Spring 2013 campaign has a strong air of timeless opulence. However, Simons took a new approach by incorporating the runway show’s white compartment motif to create a contemporary-inspired style utopia, which resembles an art gallery. With its modern style, the Christian Dior Spring 2013 campaign elevates the label into a new realm of tastemaking.
