My day started off sitting front row at Sally LaPointe, which was my first and maybe my last unobstructed view along a runway at NYFW! In addition to being Lady Gaga’s custom designer, LaPointe just launched her second ready-to-wear collection at NYFW. The Fall 2013 line-up is the perfect balance between practicality and excitement, packed with mostly black, camel, red, and maroon with the occasional white appearance. From crocodile dresses to mohair coats, LaPointe’s latest lookbook is fueled with a plethora of garments for the everyday woman– striving to construct a cosmopolitan image to rise above the rest. The designer definitely has a very distinct style with modern silhouettes and structured shoulders in the form of skater and floor sweeping dresses that reveal and conceal, with streamlined sleeves and sharp waist cutouts. But I truly covet this entire collection because each piece features superior quality tailoring, which is particularly witnessed in LaPointe’s structured signature jackets paired with longer skirts and dresses.
