Carolina Herrera: Carolina Herrera stole the show and packed the Lincoln Center theater, in spite of the heavy rain. Herrera’s A-list guests included Molly Sims, Ivanka Trump, Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington. Herrera’s collection for Fall 2013 incorporates delicately embellished dresses and gowns, wide-leg trousers, plus jewel-toned furs. Inspired by 1940’s glamour, Herrera’s daywear ensembles included a culmination of feminine and masculine looks, such as chic silk suit sets adorned with lavish fur trim to tailored wide-leg wool trousers and striped coats.

Christian Siriano: Scoring a last second ticket to Christian Siriano was a real treat, as I’ve admired him since his debut on Project Runway. Siriano’s latest collection was fit for a Russian princess beyond her years playing with Barbie. The Saint Petersburg’s Mariinsky Theatre in Russia was a focal point for the Fall 2013 line, this reference was obvious with opulent gold beading, overloads of black velvet, and the ornate brocade. Siriano described his muse as an escort from the 1880s with a clientele that rendered her into the upper echelons, eliminating her sordid past. Along with the models sporting kicks from Siriano’s collaboration with Payless, many tied handkerchief around their heads to resemble Russian-peasants. Nonetheless, they were more reminiscent of babushkas!

DKNY: With images of the NYC skyline flashing in technicolor in the background at DKNY, this amped-up the brand’s urban inspired vision reflected in the palette of fire-engine red and shocking pink throughout the Fall 2013 line. On top of that, animal-inspired patterns and color blocking motifs played a pivotal role — great and small concentrated on knit dresses and oversize sweaters. Nevertheless, blocking and animal print motifs often rival against black as the go-to uniform of choice. Importantly this collection embodies an accurate picture of the perfect modern working wardrobe fit for the woman with a serious sense of style and confidence.
