She’s da man

With a lust for grey combined with pieces and suiting with sharp menswear inspired tailoring, particularly as we enter the annual ice age. This vintage Chanel trench coat, crafted with a menswear inspired silhouette, appears to be straight out of an episode of Mad Men in the 1960’s. Its erectly structured shoulders and oversize collar render this sartorial masterpiece  a double purpose. It’s ideal for going from the office to dinner– without making any changes. In addition to functioning as an outerwear garment, this coat can easily be styled as a dress, especially layered with an oversize cashmere trench during the colder months.  To preserve the timeless, yet modern-inspired motif, I styled this piece neutrally by pairing it with grey booties with cutouts from MaxMara and obnoxiously oversize Marni shades. As per the other accents, I contrasted this luxe Chanel coat with a black belt from Banana Republic with golden hardware (I scored at a thrift shop for 50¢) and a matching vintage structured patent leather Gucci bag.
